Valassis Coronavirus Planning & Preparedness
In the wake of the increased number of cases and areas affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to assure our clients, partners, and consumers of our goal to minimize disruptions, preserve our ability to serve our clients and their customers, and protect the health and safety of our employees at each of our locations.
As of today, we are operational and keeping a close eye on the health and safety of the Valassis family and the evolving situation. With the precautionary measures being taken across the country we have directed our employees who can work from home to do so. We are committed to delivering the highest level of performance and availability with a seamless transition across our distributed workforce with this shift to work remotely. We have implemented additional leave options and workplace guidelines to further safeguard our employees. Valassis has also established a taskforce to ensure we are updating contingency plans and adapting our approach as the situation evolves.
Our Manufacturing locations continue to be operational, in accordance with state and local mandates, and we are closely monitoring changing local conditions and government requirements so that we can make any required adjustments. Our operations support essential businesses including grocery, drugstores, consumer packaged goods, and healthcare and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) – an essential function under federal law during times of emergency – relies on continued operations of the mailing and printing industry participants, like Valassis, as vital to its continued performance. We remain committed to the production and distribution of our clients’ content that supports consumers’ ability to plan, shop, and save on things they need every day.
Currently, we are actively distributing our clients’ promotions across both our digital marketing and print advertising solutions without delays and are in close contact with partners, including the USPS, which is operating business-as-usual without disruption. At this time, we don’t perceive there to be a distribution risk for our RetailMeNot Everyday™ print portfolio. With our partners and suppliers being predominantly U.S.- based, our supply chain remains intact. We are diligently monitoring both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) status reporting and will take necessary steps to enact our contingency plans if conditions change.
NCH’s coupon redemption services also continue to be operational with commercial export to Mexico transacted in a typical manner.
Additionally, our operations teams are working closely with partners to stay alerted in the event of any market distribution changes, disruptions, and updates to service; we are actively building alternative distribution solutions should we encounter short- or long-term delivery disruption. These include increasing digital consumer engagement, expanding our private carrier network, and leveraging local newspaper delivery.

Valassis is continuously reviewing our preparedness plan which includes enabling a healthy and remote work environment, ensuring our operating facilities maintain hygiene protocols and hotline communication, and assessing ways to maintain critical processes.
