Valassis’ Rebecca Schlachter Named to IAB Data Center of Excellence Board

LIVONIA, Mich., Sept. 13, 2016: Valassis, a leader in intelligent media delivery, is proud to announce Rebecca Schlachter, executive director, data and analytics, Valassis Digital, has been elected to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Data Center of Excellence Board. The Data Center of Excellence is an independently funded and staffed unit within IAB founded to drive the “data agenda” for the digital media, marketing and advertising industry.

In her role, Schlachter will collaborate with other board members to develop industry best practices and standards, as well as define boundaries and increase value along the data chain for consumers, marketers and the ecosystem that supports them. She joins board members from other organizations including Acxiom and Integral Ad Science.

Schlachter has been on the edge of advanced data analytics for nearly 20 years, with a solutions portfolio that includes global brands like Microsoft and AIG to develop social media metrics, data-driven segmentations, catastrophe models and predictive algorithms. A social scientist by training, past experiences include visualization dashboards, dynamic scorecards and database development for Sun Microsystems, IBM, Vodafone and Boeing.

Schlachter’s doctorate research focused on environment and behavior with the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Colorado.
