Reuniting Missing Children With Their Families - Our Passion

In partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the U.S. Postal Service, Valassis distributes pictures of missing children as part of our Have You Seen Me?^® photo program and has been doing so for nearly 30 years. Launched on May 24, 1985, the program is the largest and most successful public/private sector effort of its kind in the nation. To mark the silver anniversary of this program in 2010, Valassis featured more children in one mailing than it ever has in a single week - 145 children in a special edition of the RedPlum® Shared Mail Wrap delivered to 44 million households across the country.

National Missing Children's Day – May 25

National Missing Children’s Day, first proclaimed by President Ronald Reagan in 1983, will be marked for the 30th year on May 25. This date is the anniversary of the day in 1979 when 6-year-old Etan Patz disappeared from a New York street corner on his way to school. His photo was circulated nationwide and it has come to symbolize missing children and searching families. Our Have You Seen Me?® program continues to utilize the power of photos to help find missing children and is committed to make sure that no missing child is ever forgotten.

Have You Seen Me?®: Using our strengths to help the nation's children

Photos are the number one tool in the search for missing children and Valassis empowers the American public to take part in this effort to bring them home. The Have You Seen Me? images, featuring the names and faces of missing children, reach more than 100 million households each week across our RedPlum portfolio in the mail, the newspaper and online at redplum.com.

In 1985, ADVO, acquired by Valassis in 2007, in partnership with NCMEC and the U.S. Postal Service, founded America's Looking For Its Missing Children®. The program has since grown to become the most successful private-sector program of its kind. Our signature program has changed the way America searches for missing children.
