We believe in developing best practices that promote sustainability, support community stewardship, and in aligning environmental principles that mirror our corporate values. Our goals are driven towards compliance and preparedness for emerging regulations, affecting our carbon footprint, and implementing fiscally sound principles for continuous improvement & environmental sustainability. Environmental Goals 

Our core beliefs will drive Valassis' environmental stewardship goals including:

• Compliance with existing government regulations and establishing the foundation to be prepared for emerging requirements in sustainability and carbon emissions reduction where Valassis has impact on the environment
• Continuous improvement in sustainability practices and carbon footprint reduction using fiscally sound practices
• Educate our clients, suppliers and associates on the important role they each play in sustaining the environment
• Balance in providing economic value while continuously optimizing environmental value throughout the community

Continuous Improvement - Measurement 

Valassis strives for continuous improvement and the desire to exceed benchmarks.
In support of our environmental goals it is imperative we:

• Document metrics that assess our sustainability and management of our
  carbon footprint
• Establish short, mid and long-term goals to ensure continuous improvement
• Annually measure each sustainability practices against internal benchmarks, comparable industry standards, and best-in-class to gauge our success
• Resonate awareness and continue to educate on our environmental stewardship beliefs, goals and measurement results
