    Benefits

    • Flex Benefits: We offer a variety of flexible benefits designed to empower our associates to make choices that work best for them and their families.

    • Medical: Associates may choose between two medical plans, a PPO and a High Deductible Plan with a Health Savings Account. Our national medical and pharmacy networks ensure that associates have access to a broad range of participating providers.

    • Dental: Three dental plan designs allow associates to match their dental coverage to meet their specific needs.

    • Vision: The vision care plan helps associates save money and offers an extensive list of discounted providers.

    • Health Care Flexible Spending Account: Under this plan, associates set aside pre-tax dollars that they will use to pay for eligible healthcare services.

    • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account: Associates can set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for approved dependent day care expenses. In addition, we will match associate contributions up to a predetermined amount.

    • Disability Program: In the event that an associate becomes ill and is unable to work, we offer two company-paid income replacement programs to protect associates and their families.

    • Short term Disability (STD): This program continues a portion of an associate's pay for a period between 2 and 26 weeks during an approved illness or injury.

    • Long term Disability (LTD): This program provides continued protection for disabilities lasting longer than 26 weeks. A percentage of pay will continue for approved disabling conditions for up to 5 years or more.

    • Optional Long Term Disability: Associates may purchase additional coverage and augment our company-paid LTD plan.

    • Long Term Care: Associates may purchase discounted long term care insurance for themselves and their spouse. Long term care coverage provides benefits for a variety of services including home health care, adult day care and nursing home costs.

    • Life / AD&D: Associates receive company-paid life insurance based on a multiple of their base annual earnings. An accident benefit is provided that pays benefits based on a schedule.

    • Optional Life: Associates have the opportunity to purchase additional life insurance for themselves, their spouse and their dependent children.

    • Part-time Benefits: We offer a benefits package to our eligible part-time associates, which offers life insurance, medical and prescription coverage, dental, AD&D, flexible spending accounts, and paid vacation time.

    • The Valassis Employees' Retirement Savings Plan: Our Savings Plan allows associates to build savings for their retirement in a tax-deferred 401(k) account or a Roth 401(k).

    • Profit-sharing: Dependent upon our company's performance in a given year, eligible associates will receive a certain percentage of their base annual salary in the form of an employer contribution into their Valassis Employees' Retirement Savings Plan account.

    • Adoption Reimbursement: Recognizing that adoption can be a costly process, Valassis provides a program that offers reimbursement of a portion of the expenses related to the adoption of a child.

    • Employee Assistance Plan: We have contracted with a national vendor to help our associates and members of their families resolve personal problems, as well as offer resources and referral services.

    • Onsite Fitness Centers: At our larger locations, fully equipped fitness centers are available to help our associates keep fit.

    • Expectant Mother Parking: To assist expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy, special parking that is close to building entrances is available.

    • Discounts: As a special perk for our associates we've negotiated a host of discounts from cell phones, home and auto loans and home furnishings to amusement parks and movie tickets.

    • Postal Services: Associates can send packages and letters via UPS or the US Postal Service through many of our mailrooms, as well as purchase stamps.

    • Dry Cleaning Services: Several locations have contracted with dry cleaners to provide pickup and delivery.

    • Maternity and Paternity Leave: New mothers and fathers receive paid time off upon the birth of a child.

    • Adoption Time Off: Associates receive paid time off for the adoption of a child up to 18 years of age.

    • Life Event Programs: Valassis has special programs that celebrate our associates' and their families' most important life events including marriage, the arrival of a new baby, going away to college or into the military and retirement.
