 1. What type of file format does Valassis accept? Valassis produces a wide variety of products. The process to produce these products vary. It is important for you to refer to the “Accepted File Formats” for your specific Valassis product.

 

2. Do I need to include fonts? Yes. Please supply all screen and printer fonts. These fonts will be used solely for processing your files.

 

3.What is an acceptable color proof? A four color proof that has been calibrated to S.W.O.P standards.

 

4. Can I pick up an old creative, or a creative from a different product line? Valassis stores creative information for a minimum of 12 months. Please discuss this option further with your Valassis Production Representative.

 

5. What if I am unable to meet a material due date? Please contact your Valassis Production Representative for assistance.

 

6. Requirements for Die Cuts? ¼ bleed and ¼ type safety. Please contact your Valassis Production Representative for specific ad dimensions.

 

7. Can Valassis email me a template so that I can typeset my piece? Yes. Please contact your Valassis Production Representative for assistance.

8. How do I upload a file to your FTP site? Windows “PC format”: Internet Explorer or an FTP software such as FTP Pro. Mac: You must use an FTP software such as “Fetch”. Internet Explorer does not work for FTP on the Macintosh. Please contact your Valassis Production Representative for FTP address/username/password.

 

9. Why do I need to “stuff” my files to send FTP? Stuffing files to send FTP helps to preserve the integrity of the file.

 

10. How should FTP files be labeled? Valassis does not require any specific naming convention however, we do require that you email or contact your Valassis Production Representative indicating your file name and that file transfer has completed.
